Tools Required
Lathe (for tapered legs)
Drill & bits
Mallet
Leather punch & scissors
Sandpaper & finish (tung oil or spar urethane)
Build Steps
Turn the Legs
Taper slightly from bottom to top.
Drill a ¼" hole through each leg ~10" from the top.
Make the Leather Seat
Cut equilateral triangle (16" per side) with 1" radius at each corner.
Punch holes in each corner for Chicago screws.
Assemble
Bolt legs together at pivot.
Attach seat with screws through leather and into leg tops.
Tie cord above the pivot to restrict leg spread.
