A French cleat wall is the ultimate workshop upgrade. This modular storage system lets you hang, rearrange, and customize tool holders using a simple bevel cleat on plywood.

Build Steps
1. Cut the Cleats
Rip the 3/4β plywood at 45Β° angles to form long beveled cleats.
Each cleat is approx. 3β wide with the bevel along one edge.
Cut at least 6β8 cleats, depending on wall height.
2. Mount to Wall
Find and mark studs.
Start at 12β off the floor and mount each cleat every 8β12β.
Attach using 2 screws into each stud.
Make sure bevel faces up and away from the wall.

3. Build Custom Holders
Use leftover plywood to create tool-specific holders (chisel rack, drill dock, glue shelf).
Screw a matching cleat on the back of each holder.
