Article 14: Building a Sturdy Wooden Toolbox

A solid wooden toolbox keeps your tools secure and within reach, plus it adds a bit of old-school craftsmanship to your workshop.
Materials

Tools Needed
Circular saw or miter saw
Drill
Wood clamps
Sandpaper
Steps
Cut the Sides
Cut four pieces from the 1x12 to create the sides of the toolbox (12” x 8” pieces).
Assemble the Box
Glue and screw the sides together to form a rectangle.
Make the Handles
Cut two pieces of 1x6 pine to 12” for the handles. Attach them with screws to the sides.
Add the Bottom
Cut the plywood to fit the bottom of the box and attach it with wood glue and screws.
Sand and Finish
Sand all surfaces smooth and apply a finish of your choice.
