These folding sawhorses are rugged yet stow easily, using locking hinges and a stable footprint.
Materials (Per Sawhorse)
(2) 2x4 @ 32" – Top Rails
(4) 2x4 @ 30" – Legs
(2) Hinges (strap or folding)
(2) 3/8" bolts w/ washers & wing nuts
Wood screws
Tools Needed
Circular saw
Drill and bits
Clamps
Square
Steps
Cut All Parts
Square off ends. Angle leg tops at 15° for lean.
Build Legs
Attach two legs per side with hinge or fixed spreader.
Attach Legs to Top
Screw angled legs into top rail with pilot holes.
Drill Bolt Holes
Create pivot point with bolt and wing nut at lower leg spread.
Test Foldability
Legs should swing and lock into position smoothly.
Finish
Sand edges and optionally apply boiled linseed oil.
