Warped cabinet doors are a common issue, especially with solid wood. Here's how to correct or minimize warping without remaking the entire door.
Tools & Materials
Clamps
Moist towels
Weights or cauls
Steam iron (optional)
Wood wedges or battens
Steps
Identify Warp Type
Cup (side-to-side), bow (top-to-bottom), or twist.
Moisture Reset
Dampen concave side lightly, wrap in plastic, apply pressure with cauls overnight.
Steam for Stubborn Warps
Use a towel and iron for controlled steam treatment. Clamp into position while hot.
Dry Slowly and Flat
Allow at least 24β48 hours with pressure applied.
Reinforce with Battens
Attach a straight batten inside the panel if necessary to hold shape.
