A wall-mounted cabinet keeps tools visible, accessible, and dust-free. This version includes a French cleat system and adjustable interior layout.

Materials

  • 1 sheet 3/4" plywood

  • 1/4" plywood for back and tool panel

  • Piano hinge (36")

  • Screws (1 1/4")

  • Magnets or latches

Tools Needed

  • Circular saw or table saw

  • Drill and driver

  • Clamps

  • Tape measure

  • Square

  • Wood glue

Cut List

  • (2) Sides: 30" x 12"

  • (1) Top/Bottom: 24" x 12"

  • (1) Back: 30" x 24"

  • (1) Door: 30" x 24"

  • (1) French cleat: 30" long, 45° bevel

Build Steps

  1. Build the Box
    Join the sides to the top and bottom using screws and glue. Attach the back.

  2. Mount the Cleat
    Screw the cleat to the back top edge. Attach the matching cleat to the wall.

  3. Install the Door
    Use a piano hinge to mount the door. Add magnetic catches or a locking mechanism.

  4. Add Tool Holders
    Install pegboard, hooks, or custom holders inside.

  5. Finish and Mount
    Sand edges, apply finish, and hang on the wall.
