Materials Needed
Wood glue
Replacement brass screws/hinges
Boiled linseed oil or paste wax
Shellac (optional)
Tools Needed
Clamps
Mallet
Scraper
Sandpaper (120, 220)
Small hand saw
Steps
Disassemble Gently
Remove hardware. Label each piece.
Clean All Parts
Use mild soap and water, then dry immediately.
Repair Joints
Re-glue dovetails or miters. Clamp overnight.
Replace Damaged Wood
Patch with matching species or wood filler if minor.
Finish
Apply oil or wax to revive the grain and protect surface.
